چکیده
Magnetorheological fluid (MRF) has shown its great potential in the development of large mechanical devices, such as dampers, shock absorbers, rotary brakes, clutches, and prosthetic joints. Recently, more research focus been invested on using MRF to develop soft, stretchable, miniaturized devices with variable stiffness for realizing functionalities that cannot be achieved solid smart materials. Here, based liquid metal magnetoactive slurries (LMMS), a wire excellent electrical conductivity is demonstrated. Without exposure magnetic field, LMMS an extremely low stiffness, can easily stretched while maintaining conductivity. When applying becomes much stiffer retain shape even under load. The combination properties flexibility, high conductivity, harnessed make flexible gripper grasp objects various shapes. Moreover, by gallium instead alloys, tunable range significantly enhanced controlled both external fields temperature-induced phase change. presented applied electronics, soft robotics so on.

متن کاملMagnetorheological brush - a soft structure with highly tuneable stiffness.
By combining the field-stiffening effect of magnetorheological (MR) elastomers and the Euler buckling mechanism, we developed a brush-like magneto-active structure with highly tuneable stiffness. When the applied mechanical load is within a certain range, the effective stiffness of the structure can be tuned by several orders of magnitude with the applied magnetic field. The performance of the ...

In this paper we present an innovative application of magnetorheological (MR) fluids to haptic interfaces. These materials consist of a suspension of a micron-sized, magnetizable particles in a synthetic oil. Exposure to an external magnetic field induces in the fluid a change in rheological behaviour turning it into a near-solid in few milliseconds. Just as quickly, the fluid can be returned t...

This article presents the design and analysis of a novel dynamic stiffness tuning vibration absorber working with Magnetorheological elastomers (MRE). In this design, the MRE worked in a shear mode, but its MR effect was significantly enhanced by dynamically squeezing the sample thickness with an embedded piezoelectric (PZT) actuator. With this design, both the quasi-static magnetic field and t...
